Blood test could boost colorectal cancer screening in underserved groups
NCT ID NCT05536713
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at why some people avoid colorectal cancer screening and whether offering a simple blood test instead of a stool test or colonoscopy could help. Researchers worked with 297 patients from community health centers who had not completed a prior screening order. The goal was to see if a blood-based test would be more acceptable and improve screening rates, especially in medically underserved populations.
