Brain's secret weapon against memory decline revealed?

NCT ID NCT06002477

First seen Jun 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how older adults who worry about their memory may use extra brain power to stay mentally sharp. Researchers will give a medication that temporarily affects a brain chemical to see how attention networks respond. The goal is to understand these compensatory brain processes, not to treat or cure memory loss. 80 volunteers aged 55 and older with normal thinking scores will participate.
