Study of 3,600 patients tests if ultrasound makes spinal anesthesia faster and safer

NCT ID NCT06656793

Summary

This study looked back at data from 3,597 patients to see if using real-time ultrasound to guide spinal anesthesia is better than the traditional method, which relies on feeling landmarks on the back. The goal was to compare how long each procedure takes and see if one method leads to fewer complications, especially for patients who are obese, elderly, or have had prior back surgery.
