First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether using ultrasound to select the correct breathing tube size for one-lung ventilation is more accurate and causes fewer side effects than the traditional method. 74 adults aged 18-75 undergoing thoracic surgery were randomly assigned to either the ultrasound or classical method. The main goal was to see if ultrasound reduced postoperative cough and sore throat.
