First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests a new use of low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) to calm a nerve cluster in the neck (stellate ganglion) and prevent dangerous heart rhythms in people who just had a major heart attack. 100 patients will receive either real or fake ultrasound alongside standard care. The goal is to see if this safe, non-invasive approach reduces life-threatening arrhythmias in the first few days after treatment.
