First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using ultrasound to check the heart, lungs, and diaphragm can help doctors know when surgical ICU patients are ready to come off a ventilator. About 190 adults who have been on a ventilator for at least 48 hours will take part. The goal is to create a model that predicts weaning success and reduce the risk of breathing problems after the tube is removed.
