Zapping kidney fat with sound waves: a new hope for stubborn hypertension
NCT ID NCT07232966
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-surgical procedure for people whose high blood pressure doesn't respond well to multiple medications. Doctors will use focused ultrasound waves to target and modify the fat tissue around the kidneys, which is thought to play a role in blood pressure control. The goal is to see if this one-time treatment can safely lower blood pressure for at least six months, potentially reducing the need for so many pills.
