Sound waves to the neck may boost blood pressure in shock
NCT ID NCT07467798
First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This early study tests whether a brief, low-intensity ultrasound applied to the neck can help raise blood pressure in adults with mild to moderate shock. About 30 participants will receive either ultrasound or a sham treatment alongside standard care. The goal is to see if this approach can improve the effectiveness of shock treatment and reduce the need for blood-pressure-raising drugs.
