Sugar-Water injection tested to relieve stubborn buttock pain

NCT ID NCT07326982

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific injection technique works better than dry needling to reduce pain in people with piriformis syndrome, a condition causing buttock and sometimes leg pain. Researchers will compare an ultrasound-guided injection of a sugar-water solution between muscle layers to a dry needling procedure. About 42 adults with this type of pain will receive one treatment and have their pain levels tracked for three months.
