Doctors use ultrasound to peek inside Kids' stomachs before surgery to prevent dangerous complication
NCT ID NCT05330351
Summary
This study aims to see if using an ultrasound scan on children's stomachs before urgent trauma surgery can accurately identify those with a lot of fluid or food still present. This helps doctors understand which children are at higher risk of accidentally breathing stomach contents into their lungs during anesthesia. The goal is to gather information to help guide safer anesthesia practices for these vulnerable young patients.
