Hidden joint inflammation exposed: ultrasound uncovers silent clues in IBD patients
NCT ID NCT07205549
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether ultrasound can find hidden joint inflammation in people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) who have no joint pain or arthritis diagnosis. Up to half of IBD patients may have such hidden issues, which are often missed by regular exams. Researchers will scan 81 adults with IBD to see how common these hidden findings are and how they relate to bowel disease activity. The goal is to create a standard ultrasound method to catch these problems early.
