First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study aims to see if advanced ultrasound techniques can accurately detect fatty liver disease in children, potentially offering a faster, cheaper, and needle-free alternative to MRI. Researchers will enroll 120 children aged 9 to 18 who have risk factors for the condition. The goal is to develop and test these ultrasound methods, possibly even using small handheld devices.
