Could a simple ultrasound scan make surgery safer for pregnant women?

NCT ID NCT07423741

Summary

This study aims to see if ultrasound scans of the neck can better predict when placing a breathing tube during surgery might be difficult, especially for pregnant women. Researchers will compare ultrasound measurements to traditional physical exams in three groups: non-pregnant women, healthy pregnant women, and pregnant women with high blood pressure (pre-eclampsia). The goal is to find a faster, more accurate way to spot potential airway problems before surgery begins.
