First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study is testing a new way to treat depression using gentle ultrasound waves aimed at specific brain areas. 30 adults with hard-to-treat depression will get personalized, non-invasive brain stimulation while researchers monitor mood and brain activity with MRI. The goal is to see if this approach can safely improve mood and target the right brain circuits.
