Warning labels on junk food: do they change what parents buy?

NCT ID NCT06842680

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a special warning label for ultraprocessed foods helps parents in Chile recognize them and change their buying choices. Over 3,600 parents were shown different food packages, some with the extra label, and asked about their purchase intentions. The goal was to see if these labels work on their own or alongside existing nutrient warnings.
