New PET scan slashes radiation by 100x – could change imaging forever

NCT ID NCT07542158

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new, ultra-low-dose PET scan that uses 10 to 100 times less radiation than current scans. Researchers want to see if they can still get clear images of brain conditions (like Parkinson's) and certain tumors. About 200 healthy volunteers and patients will get one scan each. The goal is to make imaging safer without losing quality.
