Summary
This early study tests a new type of stem cell transplant called 'ultra-transplantation' for children aged 7-12 with severe thalassemia, a serious blood disorder. The approach aims to cure the disease without the usual chemotherapy pretreatment and without the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Only 5 participants will be enrolled to see if donor cells successfully take hold in the body.
