Year-Long heart drug safety test for fontan teens shows promise

NCT ID NCT03013751

Summary

This study followed 301 adolescents with single ventricle heart disease who had previously undergone Fontan surgery to assess the long-term safety of taking udenafil medication for one year. Participants took udenafil daily while researchers monitored for side effects and measured changes in exercise capacity, blood flow, heart function, and quality of life. The goal was to determine if this medication could be safely used long-term to help manage this complex heart condition.
