First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a medicine called ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) can reverse gastric intestinal metaplasia, a condition that raises stomach cancer risk. About 196 adults without H. pylori infection will take UDCA or a placebo daily for 6 months. Researchers will check if the stomach lining improves using endoscopy and biopsies.
