Summary
This study tested a typhoid vaccine called TyphiBEV in over 72,000 people aged 1 to 30 years living in Vellore, India, where typhoid is common. Researchers compared the number of typhoid cases in vaccinated groups versus unvaccinated groups to see how well the vaccine works. The goal was to find out if giving this vaccine to a large community can lower the spread of typhoid fever.
