Simple drug dose aims to make complex urethral surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07501884

Summary

This study is testing whether a single dose of a common medication called tranexamic acid (TXA) can safely reduce blood loss during surgery to repair a narrowed urethra. About 40 adult patients having this elective surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the TXA dose or standard care without it. Researchers will then compare how much blood is lost during and after the procedure between the two groups.
