Common surgery drug tested to stop bleeding in colon cancer prevention

NCT ID NCT05345613

Summary

This study is testing if adding a drug called tranexamic acid (TXA) to the standard procedure for removing large colon polyps can reduce bleeding. TXA helps blood to clot and is already used safely in other surgeries. Researchers will compare bleeding rates in about 200 patients to see if the TXA gel is more effective and causes fewer side effects than the current standard.
