First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving multiple doses of tranexamic acid (TXA) by mouth or through a vein reduces blood loss and the need for blood transfusions after spine surgery better than a single dose. It involves 604 adults scheduled for open back surgery who are at high risk for needing a transfusion. The goal is to find the most effective way to use TXA to improve recovery.
