Ear-Zap device could tame racing heart in POTS

NCT ID NCT07163130

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a non-invasive device that stimulates a nerve in the ear (tVNS) to see if it can help control symptoms of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a condition where standing causes a rapid heart rate. About 24 adults with POTS will receive both active and sham (inactive) stimulation in a crossover design. The goal is to measure changes in heart rate and symptom scores.
