New feeding method could help sick kids get more nutrition
NCT ID NCT05286177
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a volume-based feeding approach helps critically ill children in the pediatric ICU get the nutrition they need. Tube feedings are often interrupted, so kids may not get enough calories and protein. The trial will compare volume-based feeding (adjusting the amount given throughout the day) to the usual rate-based method. About 20 children will take part to see if this approach is practical for a larger future study.
