First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether a type of exercise called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) can improve trunk control in ICU patients who have muscle weakness. 58 adults who have been in the ICU for at least 48 hours will be randomly assigned to receive either PNF exercises or standard physical therapy. The main goal is to see if PNF helps patients achieve better sitting balance, which is an important step toward recovery.
