New triple therapy aims to shield kidneys in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT07537088

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a third drug (dulaglutide) to two existing medications can better protect the kidneys of Chinese adults with type 2 diabetes and mild-to-moderate chronic kidney disease. About 468 participants who are already on two kidney-protecting drugs will either continue their current treatment or add dulaglutide for 26 weeks. The main goal is to measure changes in urine protein levels, a key marker of kidney health.
