Summary
This study looked at whether long-term treatment with trimetazidine, a drug that helps heart cells use energy more efficiently, could reduce scarring in the heart muscle after a heart attack. Researchers followed 194 people who had a severe type of heart attack (STEMI) and measured scarring with MRI scans after 6 months. The goal was to see if this drug could improve heart healing and function.
