New study aims to end trigger finger relapses with better surgery
NCT ID NCT07497061
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study compares two surgical techniques for trigger finger, a condition where a finger gets stuck in a bent position. The standard method (longitudinal opening) has a 7.7% recurrence rate, while the newer method (complete pulley removal) may lower that rate. About 236 adults will be randomly assigned to one surgery and followed for one year to see which technique leads to fewer recurrences, less pain, and better finger movement.
