Summary
This study tests a new once-daily version of trientine against the standard drug penicillamine for people recently diagnosed with Wilson's disease, a condition where copper builds up in the body. About 38 children (8 years and older, weighing at least 55 lbs) and adults will take one of the two medicines for 48 weeks. The goal is to see if the new pill is safe and works as well or better at controlling copper levels.
