Summary
This pilot study tested whether placing critically ill patients with low blood pressure in a head-down position (Trendelenburg) for up to 72 hours could improve organ function by reducing the need for IV fluids and blood-pressure-raising drugs. The study included 10 sedated, mechanically ventilated adults in the ICU. The approach was compared to standard semi-upright care. The trial was terminated early, so results are limited.
