NCT ID NCT07176741
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looks at a protein called TREM-1 in liver cells to see if it can help doctors tell how severe a patient's alcoholic hepatitis is and predict who will respond to treatment. Researchers will compare TREM-1 levels in 300 people with severe alcoholic hepatitis or other liver diseases using stored biopsy samples. The goal is to improve diagnosis, guide safer use of steroids, and identify patients who may need a liver transplant sooner.
