Sugar vs salt: which powder better saves your dental implants?

NCT ID NCT07140146

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests if a trehalose powder cleans dental implants better than a standard glycine powder in people with peri-implant mucositis (gum inflammation around implants). Forty adults will receive non-surgical cleaning with one of the powders, and their plaque, bleeding, and gum health will be checked over 6 months. The goal is to find which powder reduces inflammation and protects the implant surface more effectively.
