New powder may better clean dental implants and protect surfaces

NCT ID NCT07140146

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests if a trehalose powder cleans dental implants better than a standard glycine powder in people with gum inflammation around implants (peri-implant mucositis). Forty adults will receive non-surgical cleaning with one of the powders and be checked at 1, 3, and 6 months. The goal is to see which powder reduces plaque and inflammation more while keeping the implant surface intact.
