Can trauma therapy help those with psychosis? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07242586

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study explores whether two established trauma treatments, Prolonged Exposure and EMDR, can be safely used in young adults with psychotic disorders who also have PTSD symptoms. Twenty participants from the OPUS early-intervention program will receive one of the therapies alongside their usual care. The goal is not to measure effectiveness but to see if a larger trial is possible, focusing on recruitment, retention, and patient satisfaction.
