Wrist access may make liver cancer treatment easier on patients

NCT ID NCT07160374

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at a new way to perform a standard liver cancer treatment called chemoembolization (TACE). Instead of going through an artery in the groin, doctors used an artery in the wrist. The goal was to see if this approach is safe, works well, and causes fewer side effects. 38 adults with liver cancer that could not be removed by surgery took part, and they were followed for one year.
