Breathing tube removal study aims to improve patient safety

Summary

This study looks at 100 adults who are ready to have their long-term tracheostomy tube removed. Before removal, participants will do three breathing tests to see which one best predicts a safe and successful removal. The study will also measure how lung function changes five days after the tube is taken out.
