Ankle surgery blood pressure spike? a simple shot may help

Summary
This study is testing if a numbing medicine injected near a major leg artery can quickly lower high blood pressure caused by a surgical tourniquet. The tourniquet is used to reduce bleeding during ankle replacement or fusion surgery but often raises blood pressure. Researchers will compare the numbing medicine to a saltwater placebo in 40 patients to see which one better controls blood pressure during the operation.
