First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a midwife gently touching the baby's head during the pushing phase of labor can shorten that phase and improve how a mother and her newborn interact right after birth. The idea is that this simple, no-cost action might help both mom and baby. The study included 68 first-time mothers with healthy, full-term pregnancies.
