Dentists reveal: the order you see tooth shades changes your mind!
NCT ID NCT07370545
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the order in which a dentist shows tooth color options influences a patient's final choice. 210 adults seeking cosmetic dental work were split into three groups: one saw natural shades first, another saw bleached shades first, and the third saw all shades at once. Researchers measured how often people switched their choice and how much lighter the final shade was, also considering how self-conscious patients felt about their smile. The goal is to help dentists present options more fairly so patients are happier with their results.
