NCT ID NCT03654742

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study compares the standard tonsil removal surgery (extracapsular) with newer, less invasive methods (intracapsular) in 167 adults who have frequent or ongoing tonsillitis. The goal is to see which approach leads to less pain, faster recovery, and fewer complications like bleeding. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the three surgical techniques and followed for 21 days after surgery.
