New pill could help patients with bulging eyes who fail steroids

Summary

This study tests an oral medication called tofacitinib for people with moderate-to-severe thyroid eye disease who did not get better with or could not tolerate steroids. The drug works by blocking inflammation pathways. Eight participants will take tofacitinib twice daily for 24 weeks to see if it reduces eye bulging and other symptoms.
