Scientists zap Smokers' brains to map addiction circuitry
NCT ID NCT05766254
Summary
This study aims to find the most effective spot in the brain to stimulate with a non-invasive magnetic pulse (TMS) to influence how smokers process rewards and make decisions. Researchers will compare different targeting methods using brain scans and test their effects on craving and learning tasks. The goal is to gather knowledge about the brain's addiction pathways, not to provide a treatment during this study.
