New jaw treatment aims to stop pain and clicking
NCT ID NCT07463404
Summary
This study tested a combination treatment for a common jaw joint problem where the disc slips out of place. Doctors performed a joint washout (arthrocentesis) and injected platelet-rich plasma, alongside giving an anti-inflammatory pill (COX-2 inhibitor). The goal was to see if this approach could reduce pain, stop joint clicking, and improve jaw movement in 20 adults with this condition.
