Hidden jaw damage after a child's tooth fracture revealed by 3D scans

NCT ID NCT07268443

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked back at 67 children to see if a broken front tooth from an injury also affects the jaw joint (TMJ). Researchers compared 3D X-ray scans from kids with tooth fractures to scans from kids without jaw problems. They measured joint spaces and pain levels. The goal was to understand hidden changes, not to test a new treatment.
