Jaw pain relief: ozone and platelet therapy shows promise in small trial

NCT ID NCT07452289

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to ozonated water during a jaw joint washout procedure (arthrocentesis) helps people with a displaced jaw disc that causes pain and trouble opening the mouth. Twenty adults who did not get better with standard care took part. The goal was to see if the combination treatment improves pain, jaw movement, and reduces joint inflammation better than ozonated water alone.
