Titanium foil shows promise for stronger jawbone regrowth
NCT ID NCT07162727
Summary
This study compared two materials used to help rebuild jawbone that has shrunk after tooth loss, a common step before placing dental implants. Eighteen patients had one site treated with a rigid titanium foil and another with a flexible collagen membrane, both covering a bone graft. Researchers measured the new bone's height, width, and density over six months to see which material worked better for creating a stable foundation for future implants.
