New drug could make weight loss surgery safer and more effective
NCT ID NCT06721507
Summary
This study is testing whether taking the medication tirzepatide for three months before weight loss surgery improves patient results. Researchers want to see if this pre-surgery treatment reduces body inflammation, which could lead to better weight loss, fewer complications, and improved health markers like blood sugar and cholesterol after the operation. The study will compare people who take the weekly injections to those who do not before their scheduled surgery.
