Timing of sperm retrieval may not matter for IVF success
NCT ID NCT07268235
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at 129 men with very low or no sperm in their semen who had sperm surgically removed from the testicle (micro-TESE) for IVF. Researchers compared doing this procedure 24 hours versus 48 hours before the partner's egg retrieval to see if timing affected live birth rates. The goal was to find out if one timing leads to more successful pregnancies.
