Immune cells fight advanced melanoma in early trial

NCT ID NCT01005745

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested a treatment for advanced melanoma that uses a patient's own immune cells. 19 participants had their tumor-fighting cells (TILs) removed, grown in a lab, and then given back along with high-dose IL-2 after chemotherapy. The main goal was to see if this approach was feasible and safe, not to cure the disease.
