Nerve block trial aims to ease Post-Surgery pain and cut opioid use
NCT ID NCT05805423
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific type of nerve block, given before thyroid surgery, can help reduce pain, nausea, and the need for opioid painkillers afterward. It involves 74 adults having thyroid surgery, who are randomly assigned to receive either the real nerve block or a placebo injection. Researchers will compare pain levels, recovery quality, and medication use between the two groups over two weeks.
